The Hidden Treasure

I have added a page to this blog concerning the Gospel paintings of James Tissot. Every time I visit Google Images on this subject I find additional stimulating material.

Look at the above picture based on Jesus’ parable concerning the search for the Kingdom of Heaven. It is based on Matthew 13:

44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Look at the face on this man! He is determined…almost desperate to acquire the treasure. Nothing else in that field matters. And that is the way with salvation. When the Holy Spirit stimulates that soul hunger, everything else loses its appeal. Inner whispers suggest, “There is a way to get to it and God has promised that you will succeed…Seek…Ask…Knock…Dig. There is no time to waste! Make it securely your own. All of life is pointing to this.”
