Waiting Together

I can just wait right here
While you go through the hoops
And I know you’re in pain
Nasty fall that it was.
Not a time to go solo
Not a time for lone worry.
And the staff here are good
Although not in a hurry.
And that child with the croup
And that man with the cast
And that mother so large
Near her full term at last
Have a look that is tired
And a sound that is strained
But you needn’t despair
You’re just probably sprained.
Still its good to be here
And to pause with a friend
And to shoulder the wait
To a happier end.
