The imp starts out almost dignified. Then layers of the onion get peeled off. Behold the ugly, heartless, horrible and destructive. King Heroin.

I was home early from college. Mom had the Mike Douglas show on TV. The weekly guest for all the fun was George Kirby. Smiling, larger than life, comedian, bang-on impersonator. But then the studio darkened and George took a painful page out of his past…
